A number of countries have been framing down policies to stop carbon emission . In this regard manufacturing of petrol cars is going to stop in coming future. India too has decided that by 2030 , 30% of the vehicles would be electric vehicles . During, the current time petrol prices have become sky high and is mostly regulated by Governments.Benefits of using electric cars includes reduce carbon foot print , no noise , saving in driving cost as well as low maintenance cost. As of now cost of electric cars is high and is more suitable for people driving in city[Due to absence of charging stations on highway]. At the same time per day driving range should be above 60 km / day so as to rationalize the cost of vehicle.
As of now, in India, two brands are creating electric cars i.e. Tata Motors and Mahindra . Range and performance, of Tata cars is good, but charging power and cost is high.
Higher cost variants of Tata Motors, are loaded with lot of features, like 20+ Vehicle Health Alerts , rain sensing wipers , sliding rooftop etc.
Battery warranty by Tata Motors is good i.e. 8 yrs.
Mahindra cars are light and need less power for charging but there battery warranty is 3 yrs only .
